While describing some recent affairs we compared the stances of clergy and laymen and usually accepted the argument of the latter. Yet today, having read about the decision of the prosecutor’s office in Toruń who refused to institute proceedings against Tadeusz Rydzyk we think that this time it’s the secular institution who made fools out of themselves. While dismissing charges of insulting the president for us makes some sense (the word “cheat”, widely quoted by the media, wasn’t actually said on the tapes), when it comes to the other charge we even did a favour to the prosecutors and quoted the penal code paragraph about denying the Jedwabne pogrom… But did any reasonable person expect any other decision? And why should he, as it has been recently described by Kaczmarek, Kornatowski i Parulski (who are in trouble for expressing their opinion, especially the last one) that the prosecutor’s offices in Poland all conform to one person. The person who is a frequent guest in Rydzyk’s media, who expressed his opinion about this matter on a press conference, therefore giving a sentence; finally, this person desperately needs those few hundred thousand votes from the members of the biggest sect in Poland. Our respect goes to bishop Tadeusz Pieronek, who was surprised with the prosecutors’ decision and noted the the episcopate is going to continue their proceedings against Rydzyk anyhow.
Donald, don’t even think about forming a coalition with b****rds like these.
