Not wanted for robbing a bank or killing someone, but wanted by the state for work. The Ministry of Finance prepared a project of resolution defining the basic salary in the Customs Service. Among the positions included in it we have a chaplain for customs chambers (16 in Poland) and the dean on the level of ministry. The spokesman of the Customs Chamber in Warsaw explains this idea with the need to provide the customs officers with priestly care. The customs do already have their chaplain, but he is not officially employed yet. The Ministry adds that they haven’t yet decided whether each customs chamber will have one, or a few chaplains. We have a few ideas of what these priests can do: explain the officers that it’s bad to steal, use the confession to learn about bribery, confiscate the smuggled alcohol and give it away to their collar-mates for conducting masses…
