Ryszard Nowak: while most of you aren’t familiar with this name, remember not to spell it next to any heavy music lover in Poland. Mr Nowak, a former UP (Working Union) member of the parliament, is now a head of the Nationwide Comitee for Fighting Sects. As his achievements in the fighting sets field were becoming more and more questionable, Mr Nowak started a new warfare: fighting against Satanism. More than 8 months ago he appealed for banning satanic outlooks (!) - of course he was laughed over, but that proposal is actually a part of the penal code novelization, luckily it seems that it won’t live to be adopted. Unfortunately for some unknown reason Mr Nowak has been much more successful in convincing local councils to force cancellation of heavy and dark metal bands’ concerts. During the last two years he managed to take at least 6 big names off the post, including Dark Funeral in Łódź; Mayhem, Marduk and Impaled Nazarene at Black Metal Festival in Warsaw; this year he almost called off Portuguese giants Moonspell. Earlier this year he announced that he’s working on a list of satanic bands that local councils should ban. Sadly, councils have shown great interest in this index, mostly stating: “finally we will know whom to ban”. This concerns local councils of all political options, except for SLD (the leftists). Of course he faced an enormous amount of criticism over the Internet, yet his comment says it all:
“After we announced that we were working on the list, we unexpectedly encountered fierce criticism of many web surfers. This was a well-organised assault: petitions against the list have been created, attempts were made to ridicule and discredit us on discussion boards and besides satanic contend was spread. We found out that while there have been hundreds of such attacks, they were all conducted from a few dozens of unique PCs. We cannot exclude the possibility of these assaults to be inspired by two or three groups that support the Satanists’ cause.“. Of course Nowak did not leave these unanswered, he collected the posts, their author’s nicks and IP addresses which he afterwards attached to a report. He said he was going to send it to the Internet moderators (he probably meant those guys from China who throw people into jails for typing “Amnesty International” or “Human rights” into their search engines). He relies on their help: “We hope that these users won’t be let into the open discussion forums by moderators, as they might spread satanic content“. The highlighted phrases have been chosen by us as best describing this man’s intelligence.
Should any of you be interested in getting into Nowak’s list, just sign a petition against using this moron’s list of satanic bands. here. [If any of you has problems with understanding the boxes, just leave a comment and we will help you.]
